Rohingya National Forum (RNF) was formed on August 3, 2006, from the First Rohingya Consultation held in Bangkok on 2-3 August 2006. It is a common platform and a public forum open to all Rohingyas -- irrespective of their views and political affiliations -- who have common interest to work together in the interest and for the betterment of the Rohingya people. The Forum is not a political party but an organization which will focus on doing research and documentation works to assist the Rohingya people’s struggle for freedom and democracy. The Forum, among others, aims to strengthen the unity among the Rohingya people and also with all other democratic forces of Burma, including other ethnic nationalities. RNF will closely work with the Euro-Burma Office, National Reconciliation Program of the Union of Burma (NRP) and other Burma related organizations.
