[This post couldn't be more wrong! The equal sign is an universal character and it is not owned by HRC. You don't think of HRC when you do math (except for subtraction sometimes). 

I have even created a logo with the symbol.



I would guess the universal symbol/logo for the LGBT community is the rainbow flag.

Because that's all I see when I look at the cover of their new album No Line on the Horizon.

It was driving me so nuts that after a while I was driven to line up those design elements to see if, in fact, the most known logo in all of gaydom is the same scale. This, kids, is when you know it's time to step away from the keyboard.
