Description
Cochlear Implants have been a miracle to many people but there are some who have had this surgical procedure and have been disappointed by it's results. Here is the place to discuss those difficulties and share with others who know how devistating this can be. If you are investigating an implant and wish to get a well rounded view of the product, this list may be just the place.
Please remember to note "Off Topic" in the subject line if your message is not about Cochlear Implants.
List messages should not be forwarded to another list without the consent of the sender.
The moderators are not responsible for any medical advice given here. If you have medical questions, please see your personal physician. Also, please remember that this list demands respect between members. The lack of respect for each other can create problems which cause hurt on all sides. Usually problems arise from misunderstanding .... and the original intention was not one of hurt! If you feel you cannot finish with an issue, please take your concerns off list so that the other listmembers don't have to read these types of messages as this can be very uncomfortable for all!
Be sure to visit the website at http://www.cihear.com where you can find updated information on the cochlear implant that would normally be linked into the links and files here. The website makes it much easier to access the information. Additionally, the site features a new CI user each month so if you'd like to be a "Feature" please send your story to info@cihear.com or any suggestions you might have to help us better the site. The site maintains meeting information for support. If you wish to inform others about your support - sent the info to info@cihear.com. At the bottom of the home page, you can find a flyer that can be printed up and taken as a handout to your doctor, audiologist or any other appropriate place including your meetings.
