Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit are investigating a pedestrian accident that occurred in Suitland, Maryland.

On February 27, 2009, at approximately 4:29 p.m., officers responded to Pennsylvania Avenue and Silver Hill Road for the report of a pedestrian accident.  When officers arrived, they found a child suffering from injuries lying in the roadway.  Preliminary reports suggest the child attempted to cross the busy intersection when he was struck by a motorist.  The motorist remained on scene.  The child was transported to a nearby hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

The child did not possess any identification and the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis Unit needs help in locating his parents.  He is described as a black male having an approximate age ranging between 10-12 years old, 5’1” in height, and weighing 90 pounds.  He was dressed in a gray hooded sweat shirt with a black T-Shirt underneath having an image of President Obama playing basketball on the front and back.  The child was also wearing dark blue slacks and black Nike Air tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about this pedestrian accident is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at (301) 731-4422.

For more information, call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Press Information Office at (301) 772-4710.  The investigation is on going.
