Here is the message that welcomed visitors & members to POH:

Are you interested in genealogy, family history, heritage scrapbooking, writing life stories, oral history or journaling? Have you collected lots of treasured memories of the past, but still haven't preserved them for future generations?

We hope you'll decide to join our group where we can share with each other how best to preserve the past for the future. Our goal here at "Preserving Our Heritage" is to encourage each other in that task.

This is a family friendly, membership based, non-commercial group. We see this as a community .. a "safe place" .. a fun place .. with an atmosphere very much like sitting around the virtual kitchen table. So, keep any commercial ads away. Instead, pull up a chair and share the heritage activities (or hoped to be! heritage activities) in your life.

We enjoy sharing and learning about all the many ways to find, organize, store, display, preserve, share .. heritage. From research to memories. From vintage photos to exploring an old family trunk. Come join in the fun and passion of exploring .. then doing something "with" .. the past .. now .. for the future. :)
