A newsletter for fans of John Cowper Powys, the British writer (1872-1963), author of the 'Wessex quartet' of novels: 'Wolf Solent', 'A Glastonbury Romance', 'Weymouth Sands' and 'Maiden Castle'. He also wrote two Welsh historical epics: 'Owen Glendower' and 'Porius', the marvellous 'Autobiography', as well as poetry, philosophy, essays, and letters.
This newsgroup is not only for discussions about John Cowper Powys, but also other members of the Powys family, notably Powys's brothers Llewelyn Powys (1884-1939), author of 'Black Laughter', 'Skin For Skin', 'Impassioned Clay', a fictionalized autobiography ('Love and Death'), and many essays on Dorset and Somerset; and Theodore Powys (1875-1953), who wrote 'Mr Weston's Good Wine', 'The Soliloquy of a Hermit', Fables' and 'Unclay'.
