On30 is enjoying a renaissance in model railroading. One of the growing On30 specializations is portable layouts. The purpose of this group is to create a forum for sharing all things related to portable layouts including construction techniques, scenicing, electrical, interconnection, and operation. Whether you're new to portable railroading or an old hand, share your thoughts, ideas, successes and (perhaps most importantly) your failures.

This group is for its readership. Members are encouraged to add relevant documents, photos, and links for the benefit of everyone.

The photo on the right shows a scene on the Dolly Varden Mines Railway. The Dolly Varden was built by Australian modelers Dan Pickard and John Hunter. It was recently on display at the Australian Narrow Gauge Convention and has also been featured the Narrow Gauge Down Under magazine.
