Aah bad week for BA. The regularly scheduled 747 at PHX was pushing back from the gate a couple days back and the whole cabin was filled with smoke. They had to employ the slides to get everyone out of there. Now the 744 is sitting in the remote area while engineers try to figure out what the heck happened.

Yup, ATL was taking extensive ATC delays and it diverted into CLT...and canceled. The crew ran out of time.
BA is ferrying in a brake rider from ATL so we can get the plane off the gate. BA is sending a rep down to help with the passengers, who were put up at hotels. We are organizing a convoy of busses to get these happy campers down to ATL. Meanwhile, a new flight crew will eventually get here to ferry the plane back to LHR.
Looking at FlyteComm this morning shows that a BA772 visited CLT last evening it was routing London - Atlanta and arrived in CLT around 7.40pm. About an hour...
