This moderated group is for Christians interested in discussing issues of religious plain and modest dress. It is not necessary to have grown up in a plain or modestly dressing group or family. We are especially interested in the experiences of those who have come to this point as a sort of conversion or a "recovery" of tradition that has been lost or currently ignored in their faith community. Traditional Catholics, Anabaptists, and other Christians welcome here. Theological points and denominational differences are open for discussion (not argument), as are the specifics of what type of plain dress you have been called to. Discussion of headcovering is also allowed here, as are gender distinctions in dress. In the past people have shared patterns, sewing techniques, and online resources. We may also share prayers and challenges we face in trying to live in obedience to the Lord. This is not a forum in which to discuss the validity of Christianity--no blaspheming is allowed.

Note: Please NO "UNIVERSALISTS" or those motivated primarily by humanist/secular concerns. This list is for those who have been drawn by Christ to a particular mode of dress and who follow this calling because of their belief that their bodies are temples of the Lord.

If you aren't approved within 2 wks, simply re-apply. Tell as much about yourself in the brief space you have when asking to become a member as possible. MUST INCLUDE DENOMINATIONAL AFFILIATION OR YOU WON'T BE APPROVED. If room, include reason for interest & of course whether you are Christian.
