I think what you really need to do is take the GPS with RS232 output and feed it into the PicoDopp MAIN board GPS input... then feed the PicoDopp RS232 output...
Hello Bob, Â Â Thanks for the speedy response. "Test and experiment" is in the GPSS software Under Control C. I just received word from Robin at GPSS...
I gave this a try last winter and had lots of problems with it. It definitely wasn't just plug and play as I'd hoped it would be. There seemed to be a lot of...
From Bob S. Thank you Kevin for your comments... sorry you had so much trouble with it... Regarding Kevin's situation, it is possible the PicoDopp is...
... The PicoDopp works great! The GPSS software needs a little tuning. ... I don't know if that was the issue or not. I know I would get the "I am receiving...
From Bob S., just an update on progress of the APRS transmitter... I managed to borrow a spectrum analyzer and look at the signal, it is dirtier than I would...
Hello, Â I am new to PicoDopp and I have tried using it with GPSS software. I was wondering what other computer mapping software other people are using. I...
From Bob S. I'll sit this one out, I really have very little worthwhile to say... far less than a lot of folks here, who have used pretty much all the...
Hello, Just to let you know that I have successfully used GPSS with my Doppler gaining so many victories in our club DF events that they have had to change the...
From Bob S. : I finally got my APRS transmitter to send an object report today that wasn't flagged by the local iGate. I suppose that means the message is...
Bob.. If you need any more dummy numbers, let me know. I have lots. WBob ... From: Bob Simmons To: PicoDopp@yahoogroups.com Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 7:10...
About 3 years ago, I developed equipment ( on request ) for an airborne UAV DF, for a special project on Sarigan Island in the Marianas. A few days ago, I...
I guess there are unlimited application of a gadget like that of yours......as much as one can push adventures. I would take time to read the sagrian thing,...
Hi group es Bob, Been away frm DF for a bit and would like to check something out having resurected my PicoDop experiments. Have a double H dipole arrangement...
From Bob S. The co-ax you identified has no specs, I must assume it is 50 ohms and has low- loss... how long is the feedline and what is the operating...
Thank you Bob, The correct url (sorry) :- http://www.diodecomms.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=30 I will re-check as you have suggested. Looking at TX...
Here's a question for the board. How effective would the PicoDopp system be at locating an AM signal in the aircraft band, specifically on 121.5Mhz (some of...
A PicoDopp can locate an AM signal by using an FM receiver. The frequency modulation is created in switching the antennas. I use this technique for locating...
From Bob S. You should not lose any RF sensitivity ( = range ) but the AM ELT modulation will be 100% lost.... that is not important for the Doppler, the FM...
If I understand you correctly, the system will still track the signal without a problem (i.e a carrier wave is a carrier wave, regardless of modulation) but...
You should not loose sensitivity I think what you mean is will you loose modulation information ? Yes As you are rx AM on an FM system. Question for Bob What...
And to take the question one step further 1. What is the best signal for a doppler DF ? A constant carrier 2. I wouldn't have thought it would matter what...
Andrew... The input circuit has zener diode protection, it will start to clip the signal when it reaches 4.7 V peak-to-peak.... that works out to 360 ...
