I'm thinking of taking a postnatal yoga class at Boundless Yoga on U
street. It meets on Thursday and babies are welcome.
(boundlessyoga.com) Is anyone interested in going too?
I noticed that they have a great deal for summer--$100 all you can
yoga. I also saw on the website that they also have a regular yoga
class with coop babysitting once a week.
Let me know if you are interested in meeting up for the postnatal
class.

Okay, for those of you interested in the walk (as long as it is not raining), I will be at the little playground near Grant Circle (across from St. Gabriel's) at 3 PM. I will probably wait around for 15 minutes and then go.---Charmaine

Hi!
I have been out of town and just returned home. I saw the messages on
the walk, and I think we should set a standing time and day(s) to have
a walk. That way, there is no confusion? What do you all think?
And, who knows, maybe we have several groups walking at different
times, due to schedules, but at least we have something set up.
For me, afternoons are better. Usually after 2:30 PM. I can do up to
an hour walk. If we were doing an AM walk, it would have to be at
10:30 or 11 am.
Also, I have set up a database. You can put contact information in
there, that way we have phone numbers and names of children. Let me
know if there is anything else you all would like.
Best,
Charmaine
Thanks! I have been out of town, but will talk to you soon.

A group of parents are trying to start a parents cooperative pre-school at the Emery Community Center (on the corner of Georgia and Madison - a beautiful new facility) starting this fall. It would run in the mornings on weekdays from 9 to 12 or 1, depending upon what the parents decide. We're looking for two more little girls to join who will be turning three at some point this fall (i.e. are around 2 1/2 right now). The price is unbeatable - about $700 for the entire school year - but because it's a cooperative, parents have to be prepared to assist the teacher once a week and provide a snack for the class. It will be a group of ten kids, ages 2-3, and we'd like a ratio of 50-50 boys and girls (hence the request for girls).

Emilie,
It might just work if you decide on a time and place
and see who can make it. It's hard to accomodate
everyone if there are many of us. I certainly won't be
offended if you think of your schedule and needs
first. I am sure we can all understand!

As long as I can manage to get my double stroller down
12 steps of stairs (it will be the first time I'm out
with it) and not on Thursday, and the timing is such
that my newborn doesn't need her milk, I will be happy
to do a walk. But I can probably only go for 1/2 hour.

Charmaine,
Thank you again for organizing Saturday's get together. It
was great to meet you and the other Petworth parents. I
would love to get together again.
When you get a chance, will you please email me the list of
Catholic schools that we discussed on Sat.
Thanks. I hope that Matthew and your husband are feeling
better and I look forward to meeting them.

Councilmember Graham has been contacted by the Emergency Management
Agency and advised that Pepco is turning off the electricity in Mt.
Pleasant "for a couple of hours" Sunday evening to do some emergency
repair work. This, unfortunately, is all the information we have right
now.
Obviously, this will leave Mt. Pleasant without internet access. But
we're sending this message to all of our Ward One listservs in the
hopes that if you know friends, relatives or neighbors in Mt.
Pleasant, you'll call to let them know. Sorry for the inconvenience.

to kick off the start of our Spring/Summer menu. The restaurant will close at 3pm, as
usual, and reopen for dinner service at 5pm. This is your last chance to gobble up your
favorite items and also get a taste of great meals to come.
Hi. I am going to try my best to attend on Saturday. I plan on
brining my son Sam who is 3 and my daughter Chloe who is
10 months and my husband Bernard.

Dear all:
I would like to attend the Domku event. I've eaten
there, and it's a nice place! Just moved to the
neighborhood last month and gave birth to a baby girl
on the 22nd of this month (last week)... If I can
manage to bring the baby, I would like to meet
everyone. I will see if my husband would like to come,
or he will be home babysitting my other baby (15 month
boy). Unfortunately, I don't know if I can join any
walks yet! Still recovering from a few stitches.

I wish that we could come to the cocktail
get-together, but we have a family dinner (extended)
on that same evening. Please let us know about the
next one.

I am glad to hear that you are able to come. The entire family is welcome for Saturday's cocktails. Domku is a casual place with room for strollers. I do not have the exact address, but it is located on Upshur in between 9th and 8th Street. If you are coming from 9th street on Upshur, Domku will be on your left hand side. If you have questions, call me at 202. 248. 8381
Best,

want to get together to play/walk whatever next week
let me know
You can either email me or call me 557 8141

Welcome to the group; I haven't heard a response to next Saturday's (4/30) cocktails at Domku, but if you are free we would love to have you there.
In regards to your question about a day camp nearby. I haven't heard of any (my child is too young), but I worked for Nativity Catholic Academy and last year the church had a summer camp. They had weekly outings and then had a structured schedule playing games (in and out doors), working on computers, & for the older kids a reading club. It is something to look into. The contact person would be Fr. Quinel (known to all of us as Fr. Q). Make sure you call the rectory directly 202-726-6262.
Hope that helps!

Hi everyone. I just joined. Excited to learn about this group. We are looking for a relatively close camp for our two kids, 5 and 9 for the month of July, and first two weeks in August. We are trying to shed our cars, and be able to get them to and fro. Any ideas for interesting and safe experiences nearby, and all-day? Or maybe even a car pool option for some place not as close?
