Description

This list is the result of a discussion at a petrified wood seminar. It is here to provide a more focused forum for the discussion of petrified vegetation (algae, fern, cycad, palm, wood, etc.). It is hoped that this forum will attract a wide variety of participants, so no question is too simple or advanced! "No such thing as stupid question", is the rule.

Membership-by-subscription is only to prevent unrelated commercial announcements (SPAM) and excessive related commercialism. Members may post advertisements, solicitations, and/or trade offers to the list, providing that the message title begins with "AD: " These ads should be limited to one posting per week, per member.

Generally, announcements by members of auction items for sale, or of their commercial (website) offerings should be restricted to footers (signature lines) accompanying messages of more general content.

Postings should be restricted to topics related to petrified vegetation.

Postings may include discussion of topics related to paleobotany or of interest to a paleobotanist.

Postings may include reports, anecdotes, stories, and journals related to prospecting, adventures, and/or expeditions.

Postings may include communication related to the organizing of the above events.

Messages are expected to be plain-text (no HTML, no rich-text).

A searchable archive of posts is available to members.

Attachments are NOT allowed. The "FILES" section is here to post pictures etc. to that you want to be available for a while. If you need help with uploading something to the "files" section, just ask.
