The Pen-Makers' Guild is a place for advanced pen makers to discuss their craft, in an environment not open to total newcomers. This group is a spin-off of the Penturners yahoo group, where many of us got our start and much of our knowledge as shared ideas. The guild was created for those who have graduated to a more advanced level in their pen making. Membership in both groups is encouraged, of course, since passing experience along to new pen makers is essential to further the craft. Here we want to discuss all aspects of pen making, not restricted to wooden pens. Materials (wood, plastic, metal, antler, etc), tools (woodworking, metalworking), techniques, supplies, kits, no-kit pens, designs, pen-art etc are all good topics. The main purpose is to enhance everyone's enjoyment of the craft or art of pen making (whichever way you want to view it), and to advance the state of the art. Industry insiders are welcome also!
The group is loosely structured after a medieval guild, membership has to be approved by the Guild Council.
Note that we are not using the yahoo! 'JOIN' button, please click here for the Guild Application instructions
