Dear Friends and Partners in Jail and Prison Ministry,
We are growing, with an average of twenty ministries joining this
Worldwide Directory of Prison Ministries.
http://prisonministry.net
AOL format:
<A href="http://prisonministry.net">
Would you please go to the first entry on the page New Members
http://prisonministry.net/app/Mins/event/showNew.html
<A href="http://prisonministry.net/app/Mins/event/showNew.html">
and make a note on the date joined and then go to the very last entry on
the same page. Note date joined. The twenty latest entries are shown
on this page. It will give you a clear picture of the number of
ministries joining during the last period of time.
Also, on our cross-search page, you can select nothing and
press "submit" or simply press "enter" on your keyboard. You will
find the total number of ministries in the database.
The time has come when we need more of your help developing
strategies and inspirations of this website.
If God speaks to your heart to return Him any talents He has given
you, are welcome to join our new discussion group in INPM
Leadership Team.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/INPM-Leadership
<A href="http://groups.yahoo.com/group/INPM-Leadership">
In this group we will be sharing visions, knowledge and experience
in prison ministry. There will be no prayer requests, help or sermon
messages. Just creative opinion exchange of how to make this site
better, more convenient to use and more effective.
Here is the first task:
1. We made an attempt to create a prison ministry events
calendar as a separate website. All true, the idea was good but it
did not go far. Members were confused as to why they had to log in
to submit events and how to update the calendar.
We are going to have a calendar of events built in to our website
and member pages.
Now members and guests of INPM will be able to see registered prison
ministry events, find events to participate in, or simply pray for
your event.
Question:
Which type of events are to be included in the calendar. So far we
have a vision for:
1. Prison outreach
2. Prayer meeting
3. Bible classes
4. New publications (books, audio, video)
What is missing?
========
DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL NOW!!! It is just a sample of the subject
and will be reposted to our new group.

Again this discussion will take place at our new group

Greetings,
We are an outreach ministry to people in prison, providing pen pals and
resources, also networking with other ministries working to help the inmates
in all areas of need, spiritual first, and physically and mentally second.
http://www.christian-penpals.com
We are always in need of more Christian pen pals. Please share this need. We
are listed with many ministries and organizations who send materials to the
inmates, they write expecting to be able to have a friend to fellowship
with, to have someone write to them and encourage them.
But the wait is so long they get discouraged.
Thanks for any help!!!
God bless you,
Beth Michael

I am wondering why in a community of people that are fighting the
prison systems across the country there has not been more of a
response. If you went to the site and were having problems with the
pay options they have been updated. If you have a firewall on your
computer and it won't let paypal come up try holding down the shift
key as you click on paypal. I truly feel that if we start speaking
out, as one voice the sound will become deafening.
How did I get involved … back in 1991 my husband did something really
stupid which he would take back not because of where he is but
because he truly regretted his actions. He was put on a 10 year
deferred adjudicated probation. After 9 ½ years on probation his
probation officer forged paperwork that helped get his probation
revoked. He is now sitting in prison even though he did everything
that they had asked of him while on probation. I know that my
husband is not the only one that has been sold into slavery there are
many others. I personally will fight until I take my last breath.
Please join in the fight speak up! I'm screaming at the top of my
lungs!
We need to speak as one!

Indeed, it is a very sophisticated search, much more than it says on
the page.
Ministry or Correctional Institution can be found by state, zip code,
town and by using search options altogether.
Here is what I have learned by simply applying a programming knowledge
to this search engine.
First, no need to scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Search!"
button with your mouse to complete search request. Just press "Enter" on the
keyboard.
By putting " * " ( shift+8) in any search field and "Enter" you can
get a listing of all ministries where they have any information in the
corresponding field. For example, put * in the field "Magazine", Enter, you will
get search result of 66 ministries (as of today) who publish newsletters or
magazines. The same with "Books" and all other fields.
On the bottom of the page - field "Search by category". By selecting
any of the categories and simply pressing "Enter", you will get all ministries
involved in the specified activity. Say, you have selected "Pen-Pal ministries".
As of today there are 54 of them. By selecting "Category" and a state or town
you
will find all ministries of this activity in a certain area.
Here is more!
Put zip code, press "enter". Here you'll find a list of
all ministries and institutions in the specified area.
Someone that you want to contact, or ask chaplain to visit with him,
is in inmate_institution County Correctional Institute
inmate_addr 627 XXXXX Road
inmate_city Atlanta
inmate_usa_can_state Georgia
inmate_zip xxxxx
inmate_country United States
Put "Atlanta" in the "City" box, press "Enter". Here is a list of all
Prison Ministries in this area.
By doing combined search "Atlanta" and selecting "Aftercare" in
Category you will get all Aftercare ministries in Atlanta.
And finally, there is a link on the result of your search page:
"Send search results to your friends and partners" - by pressing it
you are able to send your search results to all your address book.
At last, if your own ministry, outreach or institution is not listed
yet, go to <http://PrisonMinistry.net/join.htm> and get your free

Enjoy!

Greetings Brethren in Christ,
We are a prison outreach, sharing the Good News and love of Jesus through
letters to the inmates.
There are so many men asking for help, someone to let them know they matter
and are not forgotten. They are seeking, many have turned from sin to
Christ, and need mentors, discipleship.
Please join with us to help them! They will be coming back into our
communities - best they come back with any hate and bitterness replaced with
love and compassion. Give them a second chance, Jesus gave you one!
Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer
adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. Hebrews 13:3

As we approach Easter, and admire the Death, Burial and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are more sensitive to sharing God's love and blessings. And this is not Death, not Burial - but Resurrection that gives us HOPE, ASSURANCE and FUTURE in our Christian walk with the Lord. This is EXACTLY the message we want to share with millions and millions of lost forgotten souls in jails and prisons around the world and in our home towns.
Today we are a group of 1347 God-loving concerned Christians, disciples, teachers and those who have loved ones in chains. I have 56 replies to Ann's of England Easter greeting in just one hour after her post! It will not be possible to send all messages of blessing to the group at once. (Well, it is possible, but will create a little chaos ;-))
We invite you to post and read replies to Holiday greeting here at our forum. Each message will go through with no delays and screening!
If you are not registered yet, please go through registration. Once you are logged in, the system will remember you; you will be greeted by name and will see forum's menu differently from other guests. You will be able to read, post, and delete messages - unlimited!

My bother is a tall, fit, blonde haired blue eyed 24 year old who is interested
in cars, rock and country music, fishing. He has other interests as well but
finding those out will give you something to talk about with him while finding
those out! ;) His birthday is July 9th. He is originally from Florida but is
incarcerated in Arizona. He has a great sense of humor is one who writes very
long letters. He is a wonderful listener and never forgets a holiday or
birthday. He has one sibling and that would me, his big Sis. I dont know how
his crime is listed exactly but I assure you it nothing violent. I would be
more than happy to explain it in detail if you would like before you write him
if you would contact me! Or you could ask him. He has never been married and
does not have any children. Although he does love children and is very
interested in his only nephew, my son. He has always been a great uncle and my
son sends him things he has colored or drawn quite frequently. He really enjoys
that. He is in for 7-10 years and has been in for 3 years. His hopes for the
future when he gets out are simple and include what all of us want from life--a
wife and kids to love and cherish, a chance of making a good living (he is a
hard worker and has been employed by our Father, myself and other close friends
so I know this as fact and not opinion).
He is just looking for someone to write him. Plain and simple. All of his
friends and family are in Florida and we havent been able to visit him as he is
so far away so he does get quite lonely. I am the only one who writes to him
regularly although he does get occaisional letters from former teachers, friends
Mothers, and family. He is in need of more correspondence to keep him connected
and to keep him from giving up.

A Christian brother in a SouthWest USA prison wants the woman God
has sanctified for him in this life.
"Beloved Brother Tyler,
SNIP
"I really miss you. Brother, in name of Jesus I do! the last message
I remember from you that really touched me personally, was that God is
trully capable of providing a wife even in situations like mine. You
know my prayer has been, that God would send a sanctified Woman in my
life. When you was ministering in Chapel [illegible] me with
abundance of encouragement. I would love for you to introduce me to
one of those sisters who love the Lord. You know my testimony. We
have served as co labors in the Lord side by side . . . . . .
" May God bless all your goings, in the name of Jesus.
"I leave you with Jesus! and by doing so I leave you with everything.
"Your Brother, friend, and servant forever in Christ Jesus.
"Brother DF in Jesus."
I f you are led to reply to him, or feel you may be that woman Jesus
has set apart for him to be wife, please reply to me and I will
forward your mail without passing on your contact information (last
name, address, phone #). The message DF responded to included the
fact that if one does not have the God
given gift of celibacy and so wants to marry, or if one is failing to
adequately control oneself sexually and so has come under God's
command to marry, then it becomes Jesus' responsibility to provide a
godly wife (Phil 4:19) and it become the responsibility of the one
under His marriage command to accept WHOEVER He provides, surely godly
but no matter if cross eyed, blind, deaf, speachless, quadraplegic,
limbless, crippled, developmentally disabled, fat, skinny, any of the
browns from black brown to "lite brite", blond, educated, uneducated,
bald, toothless, figureless or movie star beautiful. Such a one is
called to be an Issac, waiting to receive the wife Jesus has chosen
for h im without ever having met her or knowing any thing about her
except that she is Jesus' choice for him.

I am a prison evangelist. For over five years I have been
ministering to a man on NC's death-row, Henry Lee Hunt. Henry was
sentenced to be put to death on Friday, September 12. This past
Tuesday Henry's execution was stayed by Robeson County Superior
Judge Gary Locklear. However, NC Supreme Court vacated Judge
Locklear's stay earlier today. If the US Supreme Court does not
intervene, Henry L. Hunt will be put to death at 2:00am tomorrow
morning [SEP. 12]. Please pray as the early church prayed when Peter
was in prison facing the death penalty. Thank you.

Subject: New Law In Florida--Prohibits Pen Pals!OUTRAGE!!
PRESERVE FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS!
Friends... Florida inmates have lost their First Amendment rights. They
urgently need your voice to speak for them since their voice has been
silenced. Please take 5 or 10 minutes to stand against this cruel,
inhumane, and unconstitutional rule. Each and every voice is
desperately
needed!
As many of you know, Florida has passed rule 33-210.101 (8) which takes
away inmates’ ability to seek pen pals outside of prison walls. This
rule
violates the First Amendment rights of every inmate incarcerated in
Florida and censors what you can view on your personal computer. The
benefits of inmates maintaining contact with the outside world have been
established countless times: helping inmates find employment and places
to live upon release, easing loneliness and the psychological stress of
isolation, and ultimately reducing recidivism. Aren’t we, as a society,
entitled to our right to help inmates if we so choose? Why would anyone
want to stand in the way of an effort that restores human dignity while
reducing recidivism? If this rule will now be fought in court where the
DOC will waste taxpayers’ money defending it, even though they are fully
aware that courts in California and Arizona have already reversed this
same rule. It is unconstitutional, and the courts agree.
Please, even if you have previously contacted the governor regarding
this
matter, take 15 minutes and contact Governor Bush NOW! Ask him to veto
this violation of the First Amendment. The governor still has the power
to abolish this rule, and through our collective voice we can prevent
wasting more taxpayers’ money while speaking out on behalf of those who
are unable to speak for themselves - the inmates.

Dear Ebony Philmore,
I am writing in regard to the Florida Department of Correction's
proposed
Rule 33-210.101 (8). This rule states: “(8) Inmates shall not use
correspondence privileges to solicit or otherwise commercially advertise
for money, goods or services. For the purposes of this rule this
includes
advertising for pen-pals; inmates are prohibited from receiving
correspondence or materials from persons or groups marketing advertising
services. Inmates who post ads or have ads posted with the assistance of
another person shall be subject to disciplinary action.”
I wanted to let the Governor’s office know that I am opposed to the rule
based on the fact that it violates the First Amendment rights of inmates
in Florida and is an attempt to censor what I can and cannot view on my
own computer. This same rule was introduced in California and Arizona.
In
both instances, the courts found this law to be unconstitutional citing
fears of irreparable damage to the First Amendment.
I’m asking your office to intervene and abolish this intended change in
the Department of Correction’s policy. I believe that it violates the
rights of an entire state’s incarcerated population and censors what I
can view on my computer. Thank you for your attention to this most
serious matter. I look forward to your prompt reply. I respectfully
request that this correspondence be officially recorded and acknowledged

Thanks everyone!
My name is BE Smith. I spent two years in federal prison because I
grew medical marijuana for myself and others under the Compassionate
Use Act passed by the Citizens of California. But our voices mean
nothing to Washington!
Why elect me Governor?
I will pardon all persons convicted of victimless crimes, such as
growing, selling or using marijuana, including those in prison for
such convictions. I will not prosecute any victimless crimes.
I will not chase phantom crimes, innocent acts that legislators make
into crimes to show they are ?tough on crime,? so they can keep
themselves in office, but will free up millions of tax dollars from
these phantom-crimes chases to be spent on chasing real criminals.
I will not accept a salary as Governor, because I am drawing a
disabled veteran's pension.
I will demand voluntary rollback of outrageous energy contracts signed
by my predecessors. My message is simple: ?Either roll back these
unconscionable contracts voluntarily, or I will have the courts roll
them back.?
We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to seize control of
government. I will employ the full powers of our Constitution to put
the will of all Californians into action.
Californians: Rise up; cast off the chains of tyranny! Elect someone
who will stand up for you! I stood up for you in Vietnam and before
the federal government! I'll do it again as your Governor!
Let Washington, politicians and big business hear the voice of the
jury that counts: the voters of California!
