I got this email from the Sierra Club.  If I'm reading this correctly, attendees have to be inside the building by 2:15.  If our intent is to be in front of attendees and the media, it probably makes sense to get there earlier . . . which is my plan.  Of course, the president may get there at the last minute.

 

I may aim to get there around 1:00 and hang out with the Sierra Club people.  If you decide to change the meeting place, that might be a good place to meet.

 

Also, if people have cell phones, it might make sense to exchange cell phone numbers beforehand. (I don't have a cell phone, but am sure that I can use someone's at the event to call people who do.

LANSING, Mich. -- President Barack Obama will make his first trip to Michigan since being sworn in as president. Obama will deliver a speech at Macomb Community College in Warren on Tuesday.

The White House has not revealed the subject of his speech, but he is expected to talk about the economy, the auto industry and health care reform.

The event is invitation-only.

Obama will leave Michigan immediately after his speech to attend the Major League Baseball All-Star game in St. Louis and throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Local 4 and ClickOnDetroit.com will have live coverage of Obama's visit to metro Detroit .

Obama has not visited the state since he held campaign rallies in Grand Rapids and East Lansing last October.
