The "Parents with OI" group is open to single, married, or cohabiting
adults with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, who are currently raising biological
and/or adopted children (who may or may not also have OI), or who plan to
start a family in the future. The Parents with OI group will offer support
for the many challenges of parenting with a disability. Topics will include
accessible/independent parenting, societal attitudes towards parents with
disabilities, pregnancy and childbirth, and general issues of child care and
child rearing. We ask all prospective new members to complete a short biography, sharing marital status, number of children (biological or adopted), OI type, and what you feel has been your greatest challenge in raising your child(ren) as a parent with OI.
