The purpose of this discussion group is to focus on the philosophy of Zionism and its resultant usurpation of native Arab land by international colonial powers and the creation of the self-descsribed "Jewish State" of Israel. The conflict which could be said to have begun with the 1st Zionist Congress in Basle, Switzerland in 1897, continues to the present day. In spite of the so-called Oslo "peace process" its ultimate resolution is far from certain.
