I find it interesting that you talk of the "dark" knight. Usually the
reference is to the "knight in shining armor", however, yours is dark.

I like it.

I was thinking about my response to this poem, and saw the original Batman on TV
this weekend, and remembered that Batman was the DARK KNIGHT...

I'd like to suggest an old piece of pagan poetry combined with music --

Jim Morrison (and the Doors) in AMERICAN PRAYER. It is Morrison's poetry,
backed by the Doors Music. It is a classic and a good reminder as to how music
can really enhance a piece of writing! I REALLY recommend this album.

So much gaiety, popularity, so loved, so much fame
How many have said they would give anything to fill your shoes?
But those outside of the box, did not know you were playing a most dangerous
game
To what was really going on, the disguise you wore, to the truth very few had a
clue.

Everyone always thought you and others had everything that anyone would ever
want
But you and others, well you hid your true feelings and emotions so very well
But you just like the others, by demons, you and the others,by those demons,
they would forever haunt
You and others just wanted those demons to go away and forever burn in hell.

I, just don't know how many want to be in the shoes of you and the others
But to have so much, you and the others, I don't think you were ever really
happy
When I could look into your eyes, the windows to the soul, for you and the
others
I saw sadness, loneliness, and desperation, most people with everything you had
would just question why.

Seems all of those of legend and lore and the greats had that one thing in
common
The depression, the longing, the anxiety, regardless of what you had or
possessed
Each of you, in their on way for their fans always wore that disguise, making us
think you were happy and having fun
But to your demons and the depression to this you would never confess.

So Michael, I think now we understand, as we regretfully stand aside, as you
take your rightful place among the others of legend and lore
James Brown, Anna Nicole Smith, Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendix, Janice Joplan and
all the rest
With open arms they will welcome you to their walk down the walk of fame in
their world
You will solely be missed, forever loved, and may in peace you forever rest.

Recently on the PBS program "Nature" they had a feature on Victoria Falls in
Africa in which they show a real nice MOONBOW. That was the first picture I had
ever seen. So it would seem that water falls would be another way to see such.

It is not that you don't love me
It is not that I don't miss you

But things happens, sometime dark nights are heavy on shiny days
Honey, for those days lets sow the seeds of spring.

You don't know, but I keep all good memories of ours in bowl of hope
I gave them light that got from your smile
I gave them strength that got from your faith
I gave them water that got from your love
I have created the seed of spring like a magic,
Like pearl made out of nothing.

So honey lets sow the seeds of spring.

For those moments when the frustration are high
Let the shadow of its branches give us peace.
For those blue days when we lack a smile
Let the essence of its flower spread on our sky.
For those desperate seconds when we wanted to be one
Let the plant grow with our bonding.

And the days when you are away from me;
Let it be your alter soul just beside me.

So honey lets sow the seeds of spring.

Subject: Summer of Madness

Summer, the time of vacations, no school, the beach, and destinations of one's
dreams
All the sun tanned bodies, bikinis, surfing, the imagination of endless thoughts
and things
But in this time of leisure, there is a darker side, drugs, free love, things
are not as they seem
Some times things are unspeakable, the things that fate may bring.

This one summer, where man walked on the moon, and the songs of Woodstock were
in the air
If one remembers the summer of sixty-nine, something tragic happened, the
thought of this always remaining in the back of one's mind
The madness of one man would become known, his crimes were committed without one
single solitary care
The evil, the madness, beyond belief, madness such as this is very hard to find.

August was the month, these horrific crimes would occur
Causing the public to be shocked by what this small man, would order to be done
I'm sure on those nights, if the victims had first realized what would happen,
from this madness, if they could have, it they would have deterred
The perpetrators committing their crimes at night, not under the daylight's warm
inviting sun.

They were labeled hippie, using mind altering drugs, and practicing what they
considered free love
Most of them runaways, young people adrift in an ocean trying to find
themselves, their very soul
In their drug induced mind they thought they would never get caught, because the
very law itself, from this they thought they couldn't be touched, from reality,
from this they were above
This small man, doing all types of illegal things, but these things were petty,
they were not this man's primary goal.

So back in the year of sixty-nine, innocence as we knew it would be no more
The word bloodbath, would take on an entirely different meaning
As murder would run rampant, in the mind of one man, taking as his companion
blood and gore
Two nights of madness, would go down in history the names of Tate and LaBianca,
hearing these names, you should know their meaning.

That was forty years ago, but what the man Charlie and his "family" did, is
still fresh in the mind's of one and all
So much life destroyed that summer, the "family" caused so many with death to
share a kiss
Since the murders, Charlie and his friends have only witnessed and seen prison
walls
Since the year of sixty-nine, no other murders have shocked us all, since this
horrific summer of madness.

To be only eleven years old, I am facing a crisis involving life and death
I should be care free, able to enjoy my childhood, but my childhood would be
taken away from me
I watch others my age play, the last thing on their mind is taking their last
breath
From what plagues my body, I so wish I could flee.

This plague in my body, robs me of being able to run and play
So all I can do is sit and watch others as they play just wishing it were me
My plague robs me of the ability to breathe, always coughing, to escape, there
is no way
At this age, I should not have to pay this tremendous fee.

What I have is very contagious, so most of the time I am all alone
No one should have to be looking at the grim reaper face to face at my age
Everyday I hope when I awake from sleep, this awful thing will be gone
This plague causes me to feel hatred and rage.

My parents try and make my existence as comfortable as they can
As I spend my days trying to just breathe
From this awful thing children should be banned
Why oh why from me doesn't this plague just leave?

I overheard my parents talking, as for my own good, they are going to send me
away
They think this will be the best thing for me
But they don't know if they send me away, with them, I will not spend another
day
Here I will die, meeting death, so regretting the hand that fate had dealt to
me.

My plague is known as tuberculosis, the plague of the twentieth century, from
this thing so many would die
My parents really think I will survive because I have such a strong will
But my plague would totally ravage my small body, in a short while we would say
good bye
With my best interest in mind, they just don't know, as they send me away to
Waverly Hills

Through my Father's Eyes

In this earthly visit that I am making;
I see little giving and a lot of taking:

Many seem to still be of the thinking;
Get as much as they can without blinking:

Some have the opinion giving to others is better;
They said they got the idea from a certain Love Letter:

When asked what this Letter spoke about;
The answer was to have faith without doubt:

Won't you join the happy throng and not listen to lies;
Look at life through my Father's eyes.
