Description
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs and its National Cemeteries Administration have settled two lawsuits out of court and have approved the Pentacle for use on VA issued headstones and in VA cemeteries. Thus, the Pentacle becomes the thirty-ninth emblem of spirit on the VA list. And that means that we have won a major battle but the war is not over. The Pagan Veterans Headstone Campaign will remain active until the VA approves an amblem of spirit for Druids and one for Heathens.
How can we, in good conscience, not continue to struggle for these, our Pagan cousins, as they try to deal with bureaucratic hurdles which have already demonstrated in the case of the Pentacle, how unfair and biased they are? Why should this small group of career bureaucrats, with their narrow views, be able to deny equal rights to Pagans who have volunteered to serve their country in the Armed Forces?
If you agree that we, all Pagans, have a blood debt that we owe to those who have served and died, join us. Help us to pay that debt. Make congress and the VA understand that we will no longer accept second class status for our honored dead. But before you join, be warned; we are an activist organization. If you have any qualms about using any and all of your Constitution rights, we are probably not for you.
