This Group's Main Purpose is to discuss both changes involving the Amtrak Coast Starlight and the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner services. Discussions of various rail projects within the coverage area, from San Diego to Vancouver BC are allowed.


The photo for April 2009 is a specail edition, from my recent trip on the Coast Starlight. This panoramic view of the interior of the upper level of the Parlour car, loocking forward from the rear (dining car) end of the car toward the head (sleeper cars) end of the car. The individual sitting center stage left on the plush couch adjacent to the staircase that goes down to the lower theater area of the car, is Rich Ivkovich of Oceanside, CA who was my traveling companion for this trip all the way from Los Angeles to Seattle. The area directly behind Rick's position across from the stairwell is the EZ-Chair (swivel) seating section of the car.
