PUC is a political activism co-op of opinionated, loud and proud Pagans, with a fearless forceful freewheeling leadership style which some may call 'unconventional' or too 'militant.'
The ‘Unity’ word in Pagan Unity Campaign DOES mean we are members of various Pagan trads, Political parties, have various personal opinions on various issues, we are various races, age groups, and value our diversity on all areas. HOWEVER ‘unity’ does not mean we are here to ‘please everyone all the time.’
The word ‘Pagan’ in our name means; We do not work with or for Christian, Satanist, Jewish, Muslim, Atheist, or other non-Pagan rights groups. We of course support equal rights for all group's, but PUC works only for the PAGAN rights movement. While it is not PUC's position to state the definition of what or who a Pagan is, we do want to be clear that we choose to not associate our selves or our reputation with persons with darkness in their heart and with darkness as the base of their practices EVEN if they call themselves "Pagans." On the other side of the two extremes we wish to be clear to those that believe in "hyper PCness, sugar coating, or warm and fuzzy white light at all times", that PUC is confrontational in our activism, and sometimes politically incorrect as individuals and as a group.
We are a Political group which means we discuss politics and our activism is based on politics. PUC as a group does not 'support' or 'oppose' any one issue, party, or candidate but individual staffers often do. Each of us freely states our own personal opinions on various issues, parties, candidates....such open and diverse discussion of politics is not only allowed but encouraged to foster political education, awareness, and activism. We as a group are neither liberal or conservative however--as individuals-- we are BOTH...and all points in-between!
