Not for novices. This list is for PROFESSIONAL writers, EXPERIENCED (+5 years) contributors of NON-fiction FEATURES to PRINT newspapers and CONSUMER periodicals: for magazine staff, independent contributors, and those with editorial expertise. This is NOT a support group, we do NOT teach writing, and most of us have NOT stumbled into our work because someone told us it was a quick and easy way to make money from home. Requirements: FULL understanding of the basics of writing and the marketing of writing; little need to theorize, politicize, anathematize; restraint in the use of apostrophes, smiley faces and exclamation marks; a commitment to quality writing; thick skin - this isn't a chat room.
There are many good lists for those who find these restrictions oppressive. Sub (specialist) lists include travel, food wwriting, and syndication.
