Topic: Reading and Writing: Evaluation and Intervention

Who: Rosanna Buehl LCPC and Mark Taylor NCSP LCPC of the Learning Clinic in
Billings

Session Description:
Many children, as many as one in five, face reading and writing
difficulties in school. Rosanna and Mark will explain how schools evaluate
children for reading disabilities. Equipped with up-to-the-moment knowledge,
they will compare new information about reading disabilities to the methods
that are currently required in school evaluations. They will explain how
families can recognize problems, what they can do at home to help, and how
they may approach the schools.

Please join us for the continuation of our popular free monthly interactive
training. There are five ways you may participate:

1. Attend one of the 80 possible VisionNet ITV studios in the state. The
session will originate from Billings. We will try and book sites by request
with 3 or more registrants. The "live" sites will be posted at
http://www.pluk.org/visionnet.htm and registrants will be notified.

2. View the session "live" on the Internet using RealPlayer (go to
http://www.pluk.org/visionnet.htm for instructions).

3. Participate "live" (audio only) over the telephone by calling
415-455-4580 during the session. (If you cannot afford the long distance
fees, contact us for a toll-free alternative.)

4. View videotapes of this and all previous sessions that are available at
the TRIC/PLUK Library. Call the PLUK office (800-222-7585 or 406-255-0540)
or email the librarian at jsand@... to check them out.

5. View the archived sessions on the Internet using RealPlayer (see the Web
site for links or go to http://204.212.40.129).
