bulletin and calendar here are incorrect.

The workshop for May is actually Sunday, May 6 (tomorrow).

The group calendar is updated for June and July.

Regularly scheduled board meeting is this Wednesday.

Workshop is a week from today (sunday the 10th).

General Meeting Wednesday, the 20th, and

Cerro Gordo field trip on the 24th with possible additional rockhounding in the
Owens Valley on the 23rd.

I hope to make the Culver City show on June 30 thru July 1.

Also, definitely plan on attending the cfms (California Federation of
Mineralogical Societies - the state umbrella organization) show in Riverside the
weekend of July 13 through 15 if you can.

The PLS_Rockhounds Calendar is pretty messed up at this time.  I think Yahoo
"upgraded" and scrambled times and other features.  I'll try to straighten it
out soon.

I went to the rock sale in Paramount last Saturday.  There was a lot of
material, some of it worthwhile.

I came home with obsidian, petrified wood, tri-color marble, green jasper, a
couple nice pieces of turtella (sp?), and misc agate.

For anyone who would like to aquire some howlite, there was a fair amount
scattered in the various bins.

The folks running the sale said they would probably do it again before long and
lower the prices.

Hope you all don't mind a smattering of information I thught might be sharing
and possibly getting a little feedback on.

And finally, Glendale College has a series of short (3 hour) courses on wire

Within the last two years I have taken up jewelry making.  I have now expanded
into the color Stone side of jewelry making.  I'm also currently rolled in GIA
distance education colored stone course.  What I am currently looking for is a
place in all of California to hunt for colored stones.  If you know any good
places in California whether its fee-based or free two dig I would greatly
appreciate the help and info. I'm also looking for people that would like to go
out and find colored stones to help improve their health.

I've been asked to post a message telling you we have had to delete the ice
cream social from the plan for the July meeting due to issues with the library.

Other than that, the show goes on.

The Yahoo calendar may not show this change for a little while if you can access
it at all.  An upgrade in progress.  I'll plan on correcting it when I can.

The message that went out regarding an August 11 museum field trip was an error,
and the Yahoo Calendar has been corrected.

There is a CFMS field trip to Gem Hill near Rosamond on August 11, workshop and
ice cream social on August 12, and a field trip to the Page Museum at the La
Brea Tar Pits on August 18 as well as our General Meeting on Tuesday, August 21.
