You are cordially invited to the Life Release Ceremony on 6th June 8AM at Manila Bay where we will be releasing hundreds of birds and fishes fashioned in the Tibetan ceremonial way. Donations are welcome for the purchase of more fishes and birds (endemic species will be only used to ensure that animals survive in the wild and to preserve the ecological balance).

Life Release (from the Buddhist Perspective)

Animal life release is the Buddhist practice of saving the lives of animals held captive and who are about to meet their cruel demise. We cultivate compassion (Bodhicitta ) when we internalize the pain and suffering that animals experience when they die unnaturally. The lives of animals and humans alike are just as precious. We are in this journey together to find liberation from Samsara. By saving the lives of animals, we immediately benefit their health and longevity. By reciting auspicious prayers, we also help increase the likelihood of their attaining a higher rebirth. Similarly, by these generous actions on our part, we also indirectly gain long life and good health.

Life is the best gift one could give to a sentient being... and Life Release is giving sentient beings their freedom, their lives.

It is said that Life release is…

…saving lives …paying back debts …helping an emergency …compassion...realizing awareness practice …accumulating merits …convenient...changing one's destiny …removing bad karmic relationships …removing ill fortune ...healing sicknesses …saving family and relatives…extending one's life ...a blessing ….helping one be born in Buddha Pureland.

According to the Sutra of Ksitigarbha, the innumerable benefits of Life Release includes the following:

(1) Long life (2) Self-arising compassion (3) Good spirits befriending you (4) One feels at home and happy with animals (5) Innumerable merits (6) Respect from peers (7) No sickness and troubles (8) Happiness and luck (9) Belief in the Buddha path for all of one's life (10) One will not be separated from the Triple Gem (11) Eventual attainment of Bodhi (12) Long life of one's guru and wishing one's best to one's guru (13) Birth in a Buddha Pureland.

All donations will be used to purchase fishes and birds from the market. The party will leave Pina Center at 8:30 am promptly and head for Manila Bay where the fishes will be released into the waters. Please contact the lamas or 0928-559-5379 for more information.
