Progressive Democrats of Hawaii is an affiliate of the Progressive Democrats of America ( www.pdamerica.org ). We are members of the Democratic Party who are working, both within and outside the Party, for social justice. We are working to help elect progressive Democrats to office, encouraging other progresssives to join the Party and become effective within it, attempting to get the Party to adopt more progressive policies and positions internally and we support various community groups in their efforts.

We believe the Party is strengthened when it serves the interests of the people, sustainable economic policies, social equality, public education, universal healthcare, the rights of workers to organize and when US foreign policy conforms to international law.

We believe corporations and concentrated wealth have too much control and we are organizing to reduce the dominance of these forces within Hawaii, the United States and around the world, including within the Democratic Party.

This list is moderated and private to allow for frank, confidential discussions. We endeavor to remain focusssed on our mission and encourage members to restrain from flooding the list with "important" articles from the Internet, unless they are directly relevant to an ongoing discussion.
