Pa-Unschoolers is an inclusive community with Unschooling as the focus. Anyone is welcome to join, but understand that listmembers are assumed to be pursuing an unschooling lifestyle as defined below.

Many people are at different places on the road *toward* unschooling. Some are comfortable where they are at and thats ok. It is a personal decision for each family whether to stop where they are or continue on, but the places families stop "along the way" should not be confused with Unschooling.

Definition of unschooling:

Imagine a universe where there was never any such thing as school. And there was never any such thing as learning benchmarks, or expectations that children learn certain things by a certain age. Imagine a life of summer vacation, all year round, with no worries that your child is "on grade level", "behind", or "ahead", or "gifted". Imagine just living each day as it comes, doing whatever you find enjoyable, learning whatever you bump into, knowing without a doubt that everyone learns what they need to know, when they bump into a need to know it. This can happen anytime, at any age, for any reason, and none of them are "wrong".

This is unschooling.
