G'day & Welcome to OzCanyons, a free online forum to discuss the issues, passions, ethics, happenings & technicalities of the spectacular Canyons & the activities generally referred to as Canyoning in Australia.
This list is by no means an online database of Canyon routes and descriptions but specific questions are invited to the list where members can respond in a positive & helpful manner. Ideally this list may function as a communication medium between the many different interest groups & individuals involved with Canyons in Australia including protected area managers, researchers, non-commercial groups and commercial operators.
As this list is open to all people from all backgrounds and cultures, please refrain from bad language, do not engage in personal attacks or flaming & Do observe general e-list etiquette (please don't correct each others spelling mistakes etc!) and try to respond in a progressive, positive manner.
Canyons and the people who are interested in them are very diverse and we all know that Canyoners come from many different backgrounds, with many different trains of thought, experience & technical expertise levels. It is hoped that this e-group can act as a forum between us all, where ethics, techniques, environmental issues, happenings, observations & passions can be aired and discussed in a progressive manner between interested parties, providing an interesting resource for those who have or wish to experience the spectacular and unique Canyons of Australia.
