Description
Welcome to Our Special Angels. OSA reaches out to disabled helping them grow and flourish through the art of crafting encouraging training and leadership in a wide variety of activities. Activities include:
1. Our Special Angels classes- we have a solid group of youth in the Twin Cities, MN area that meet every Saturday from September through April - from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at a local community room.
2. This summer/fall we will host two camps –
##############################
June - looming/embroidery day camp - instructor Pamela Reinert - small group sessions on the embroidery machines and/or looms
September: Our first overnight camp out - we will learn how to set up a tent - cook outdoors - sleep under the stars - this will be fall kick-off/retreat!
####################################
3. Big Brother/Big Sister program - serve as a mentor to a special needs youth. Volunteering is fun! Being a Big Brother/Big Sister is simple and rewarding. It is as easy as writing an email, making a phone call, and sending monthly CARE packages. Being someone special to a disabled youth doesn’t take much more than that. But the impact is huge—for both of you!
4. Fundraising -. One super easy fundraiser everyone can help with is using http://isearch.igive.com/ for your search engine. This is the charity arm of Yahoo; you go to the address, put in Our Special Angels, and search away. Each search results in a donation to OSA.
5. Supplies - Crafts we love them all; we are only limited by the supplies we have on hand, Wanting to de-stash? Have left over inventory? Please think of sending it our way.
