Jack and Lorraine would like to welcome to
Our Fellowship, a community outreach of Joining Hands Ministries of Rochester, NY.
As a group made up of people with diverse beliefs and ideologies, we come together to share thoughts and discuss beliefs in an atmosphere of acceptance.
This is a Rational Humanist group. Our discussions are based on advancement of the individual and collective human experience, not the supernatural elements of religion or unreasonable expectations of the corporate church. Some topics of discussion may seem controversial, but all are welcome.
We discuss writings, art work, music, and our surroundings, and how we grow and improve ourselves through their influence. Although Christian texts are often discussed, those from other faiths as well as secular works may be as well.
Theists, deists, and atheists are all welcome to contribute to the discussion. Share your beliefs, observations, and thoughts on life, as well as your goals and accomplishments.
Our group does not bash religion. Instead we offer an environment for rational dialog about life without the emphasis on supernatural religious beliefs.
We are happy to include discussion of the writings of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, the Baha'i faith, but from a practical, life affirming point of view.
There is no proselytizing or promotion of unaffiliated ministries. We believe that different ideologies can be brought together for the betterment of everyone.
Formerly of Calvary Chapel, Jack has served with a number of denominational and nondenominational Christian churches. He left the corporate church due to their elitism, literalism, excesses, abuses, and exclusionary practices, and founded Joining Hands Ministries in 2001.
