No wonder it is so difficult to land a job in the gov't   Message List

An aquaintence of mine shared somes statitics with me concerning a government
job he applied for at DND several months ago. It was a project manager/analyst
type of position.

DND received over 1000 external applicants.

Of those applicants about 265 people were invited to write a 3 hour exam. Based
on the exam results, 75 people were invited for further tests/interviews.

From that, 25 people will be put on an eligibility list for positions that may
come up over the next year.

There could be anywhere from 4-15 positions, depending on funding. He also
learned that DND has a policy where only 30-40% of their positions can go to
external candidates.

Almost like winning a lottery!
