Archimandrite Kirill (Hovorun), held talks about cooperation with the Chinese
University of Hong Kong
On February 14, 2012, First Deputy Chairman of the Education Committee of the
Russian Orthodox Church, the Church's pro-rector of Saints Cyril and Methodius
Post-Graduate and Doctoral School, Archimandrite Kirill (Hovorun), met with the
leadership of the Faculty of Theology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
During the meeting the Chinese side was attended by Professor Lo Lung Kwong -
Director of Department, Professor Francis Ching-Wah Yip - director of the Centre
for Christian Studies at CUHK, Daniel Yeung - director of the Institute of
Sino-Christian Studies in Hong Kong, and Professor Milton Wan - project
coordinator of Resource Centre for Contemporary Christian Studies, and Professor
Su Xin of Nanjing University.
Both sides discussed possibilities of cooperation between the Chinese University
of Hong Kong and the Church's post-graduate training, as well as greater
interaction between the theological schools of China with the theological
schools of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Faculty of Theology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Divinity School of
Chung Chi College) is one of the largest theological centers in China. There are
carried out numerous research projects in the field of Christian theology and
interreligious dialogue.
