Father Ephrem - Prisoner of cell 2 in the Koridallos prison

ATHENS. On December
28th Archimandrite Ephrem, superior of the Vatopedi monastery was placed in a
cell
number 2 of the jail in  Koridallos, a suburb of Athens. Those accused of
economic crimes are placed in this jail.

Father
Ephrem was allowed to keep his personal effects, including - books and a mobile
phone. Vatopedi's hegumen refused a medical
examination.
 
Meanwhile, some journalists (for example, Dora Boyadraki, a reporter
with ChannelANT-1) have reported Fr. Ephrem's illness  (he suffers from acute
diabetes)is a simulation and a ploy devised ostensibly in
order to buy time before being imprisoned and to be able to mobilize powerful
friends,
including - in Russia.
