Hello John
I have had a long time working with "mikes",since 1967 in high school.
The last job I had before I got disabled ,was an inspector. I checked
parts that were made in a machine shop.
That was fun to start with because they used the metric system in the
shop.It took me a few weeks to "think metric" instead of inches.
That shop was there useing industrial diamond tooling..
Maybe what asking, or saying is that I was surprized to see that much
differerance in the standard in the "mike" box and the gage block.
The only other thing that might be a factor is heat, but they are all stored
in the same tempature place..
"Mike's" do not work well as clamp for welding.
I used to live in the High Desert, out at Barstow.
