Description

" One Common Faith " commissioned by the Universal House of Justice of the Baha'i Faith is the topic of discussion here. Its central premise is that all religion springs from one and the same essence.

Baha'u'llah has not brought into existence a new religion to stand beside the present multiplicity of sectarian organizations.

He has recast the whole conception of religion as the principal force impelling the development of consciousness.

"That which the Lord hath ordained as the sovereign remedy and mightiest instrument for the healing of all the world is the union of all its peoples in one universal Cause, one common Faith."

The teachings of the Baha'i Faith are:
There is one Supreme Being, one Creator who is All-Mighty and All-Knowing. The Great Religions of the world are as chapters in a single book, companions on a single journey. The Prophets such as Abraham or Moses, Krishna or Buddha, Christ or Muhammad, are as teachers in the same school. Their teachings are of two kinds, everlasting universal teachings, and teachings designed for the civilization of the time. Reality is one, therefore science and religion must exist in concord. Humanity is descended from a single ancestry. The essence of the human spirit is noble and good. The Soul and the body unite and life begins at conception. There is a life beyond this world and a day of reckoning. All the nations of the world will agree to a global system of mutual security. The elimination of unjust extremes of poverty and wealth. The elimination of racism. The adoption of a universal language. Men and women are equal. Monogamous heterosexual marriage. The universe is vast and filled with life.
