The concept behind the On30 Modules Mid Atlantic modular group is to join together On30 model railroaders from the Mid Atlantic Region (Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and surrounding areas) to create a series of modules that convey the spirit of East Coast Narrow Gauge railroading- from Eastern Shore and Tidewater areas across the Piedmont and into the foothills of the Appalachians.

The NBR&N (modular) and the Yosemite Short Line (sectional) are two groups that have provided a great deal on inspiration for this work. In addition, the NBR&N is the closest On30 modular group to the region and the most likely candidate for interconnection, which has influenced the standards used.

An On30 Free-Mo modular standard was developed to provide a set of guidelines that would allow members to independently construct modules that could be joined together at shows and give the appearance of having been built as a sectional layout.

There are numerous shows and meets throughout the region where modular get-togethers can be scheduled (Kimberton, Timmonium, Various Mini-Meets) . In addition, On30 modular groups are growing in popularity and the possibility of larger module meets is increasing all the time.

Modular railroading is not only fun but provides a great way to promote the hobby and meet fellow modellers. So lets have Fun!
