Welcome! OldGolden is a newsletter list about the history and historic preservation of Golden, Colorado and the area surrounding. Golden was founded in the gold rush of 1859, and grew to become a mecca of trade known as the "Lowell of the West". It has many amazing and colorful parts of its history, from the early Utes and Arapahos to having the world's largest brewery. Many Goldenites work hard to preserve this wonderful past, out of respect for their ancestors, enjoyment of the present and education for the future.
