We are concerned about the legitimacy of Ohio's elections (2004 election, as well as future elections: 2006, 2008 and beyhond) and US elections in general. We are involved in holding our leaders accountable for decisions which affect election integrity and voter rights, analyzing election data, sponsoring election-related educational events, providing training materials and templates to help Ohio citizens monitor elections, and generally advocating for fair and honest elections.
We are mobilizing for several citizen monitoring projects for the Cuyahoga County 2008 Primary elections on March 4, and welcome volunteers, energy, ideas and other help you can provide.
Ohio will, once again, be a swing state, and Cuyahoga County is sure to be one of the most controversial and scrutinized. Its recent problems with touch-screen voting machines, the Secretary of State's firing of the board, her requirement to switch to paper-optiscans, the ACLU's lawsuit challenging that requirement, the fact that the election is less than one month away and now, with the Plain Dealer's front page title "Is it Up To Ohio?" the day after Super Tuesday...hopefully will inspire a wave of citizen vigilance not seen in years.
