Occidentalis3 is a companion group to Occidentalis and Occidentalis2. It exists for the storage and sharing of rare liturgical materials in the English language, which relate in one way or another to the use of the Western rite in the Eastern Orthodox Church (non-English liturgy texts of the Western rite, currently incl. texts in Old Church Slavonic and Latin, are stored on Occidentalis2). Available files, for download and printing, include almost 300 pages of a draft of the upcoming publication of the Sarum Psalter in English, with complete musical notation. The liturgical Psalter is the heart of the Divine Office, containing the whole cycle of the week as kept through most of the year. The introduction will help anyone a little unsure of the divine office or the Sarum use to understand the majesty of this ancient and venerable Western usage for the Hours of prayer. The texts and music in these Sarum Psalter files were blessed for use in the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia on Sept. 26, 2008.
