Much of the Old Ways has been lost in our so-called civilization that need to be recovered to live sensibly today - and to cope with coming hard times. We want to relearn and share what is useful and good from the past, to economize, to live more fulfilling lives and to encourage more simple, sustainable living in the future. This list will discuss old ways of living and relate them to our lives today, whether 50 years ago or distant past. Honoring the past, the elders and ancestors, guides us into the future. We're all connected; we're all learning.
We will not have any polls, petitions, "getting to know you" posts, political alerts, jokes, inspirational stories, chain letters, religious or political proselytizing, or any other off topic posts - nothing that doesn't relate in some way to the purpose of this list. Some personal, chatty exchanges are expected, but preferably in the context of posts that are on topic. Acrimonious, inflammatory posts or personal criticisms will not appear on the list. Flagrant abuse of the list will result in the poster being banished to the Outlands.
It will be sensibly moderated, mainly to keep out all the spam that plagues so many Yahoo lists, and to keep on topic. Any comment or problem with using the list, please do not put on the list. Please tell others if you find this list interesting and helpful for the times we live in - and the uncertain times to come.
