Subject: IRV Poll - more candidates, voting tips
t_sowinski
Send Email Send Email

After surfing for items about likely candidates in 2004, I added the
following to our IRV poll:

Bill Bradley, Former New Jersey Senator
Hillary Rodham Clinton, New York Senator
Gray Davis, California Governor
Cynthia McKinny, Former Georgia Congresswoman
Al Sharpton, Civil Rights Activist

If you already voted and prefer any of these to those you voted for,
you can go back and vote again (sorry for the inconvenience) here:
http://www.opgreens.org/irv/irv_vote.cgi?c=2004dp&b=2004dp
As the campaign develops I made add more.

Also, I received a question about how to vote. To the left of each
candidate is a little button and if you click on that it will open a
list box containing all the ranks (now, 1-16). Just select a number as
your preference (lower numbers indicate a higher preference) for that
candidate. A vote of '-' (the default) means no preference. Don't
forget to click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page or
your vote will not be recorded.

A tip on voting stategy: IRV allows you to "vote your conscience", you
don't need to rank first the candidate you think is most likely to win,
make your first choice the candidate that most closely represents your
views. As candidates get eliminated in each runoff round your vote will
eventually be transfered to the most generally preferred candidate
(unless you did not rank her at all - in which case your ballot is
"exhausted"). In a real IRV election (and in an ideal world) the
relative strengths of the losing candidates will convey the sense of
the voters regarding the positions of the candidates (and give pundits
plenty to talk about).

Regards,
Ted

Subject: Join us in a commitment to affordable housing in Oak Park
Importance: High

A group of affordable housing advocates are signing onto a letter written by
Laura Kliewer in response to a letter in the 11/20/02 Wednesday Journal. The
letter and signatories will appear in the Wednesday Journal. If you support
our position, please e-mail your support to Laura at laurakk1@....

Letter to the Editor - Wednesday Journal

Maintaining Housing Affordability

What will Oak Park look like in ten years? Our village is well-known for its
commitment to diversity. We want to see it stay that way and believe the
sentiment expressed in Jeff Willis' viewpoint - to either get a
higher-paying job or move if you can't afford Oak Park - is a minority view.
As Oak Parkers, we are concerned that if current trends continue and
"property-value only" sentiments prevail, the Oak Park we know and love will
disappear.

Between 1990 and 2000, we lost 430 rental units, primarily to condo
conversions. At the same time, while the percentage of Oak Park households
making more than $100,000 increased by 48 percent, the percentage of our
population making less than $30,000 dropped by eight percent and we lost
thirteen percent of our moderate to middle-income households (those making
between $35,000 and $100,000). Although in the short-term some rental
housing prices may have dropped slightly or stagnated because of the
economy, according to the Oak Park Regional Housing Center it is still
difficult to find a two-bedroom under $890 a month and most are in the $900
to $1,250 range - requiring an annual household income of at least $36,000.

As Oak Parkers, we are committed to seeing our village's diversity - both
ethnically and economically - maintained. When we lose economic diversity,
we lose the diversity of professions, the diversity of cultures, the
diversity of races and the diversity of ideas that has made this community
such a special place to live and to raise our children. In ten years, we
don't want to see an exclusive community, where those with low or moderate
incomes are shunned - we want to see thriving neighborhoods across Oak Park
that express the broad spectrum of economic, social and ethnic diversity.

Eighty-five percent of the Oak Park residents who attended an affordable
housing forum last spring said they felt that the community should be doing
more to support affordable housing. We concur with that sentiment and urge
the ad hoc citizen's committee on affordable housing, appointed by Village
President Joanne Trapani this fall, to propose changes to the Village's
policies that help ensure that Oak Park maintain a broad range of housing
affordability.

Establishment of a housing trust fund, tax incentives for the development
and/or maintenance of affordable rental units and inclusionary zoning -
wherein the Village would require developers to make a certain number of
units in a new development affordable to low- and moderate-income families -
are a few ways the Village could proceed now. As citizens of Oak Park, we
stand together in stating that this is the direction we want the Village to
proceed. We want to ensure that Oak Park provides opportunities for people
in our community like Sharon*, featured in a Wednesday Journal article
October 23, who are working hard to provide a good life for their families.
Our diversity strengthens us all and only through a commitment to affordable
housing will we maintain it.

2 more days to object to forced vaccinations

Please forward to at least 10 other people, and ask them to forward it to
another 10 etc. We can't let this go through like The Homeland Security
Act. Your life could depend on it.

Call your Congresscritters at the following numbers.
(800) 648-3516
(877) 762-8762
(800) 393-1082

The tyrannical MSEHPA did not pass in most states, so they incorporated under
Homeland Security to make it mandatory. Your Congress Critters got paid big
bucks to include it under this act. You or your family have no legal
recourse if are injured or die.

These vaccines are experimental, dangerous, and inefficacious against
weapons
grade Smallpox. History has sh! own, people who got smallpox vaccinations more
often got smallpox than those that did not.

Those of you with radio programs, please announce it. Lets Roll!!!

Dr. Joseph Puleo

You have 2 more days to object to forced vaccinations

Friends,

The Homeland Security Bill means FORCED Smallpox Vaccination !

It is crucial that everyone know exactly what the passing of this bill in its
entirety will mean to every citizen of the United States of America.
One new insertion that was never debated or considered in a hearing (Title
III section 304 c) gives the authority to the Secretary of HHS to call for
universal -- that is, *without* informed consent -- smallpox vaccination and
other interventions with NO personal, religious or medical exemptions. In
addition, there are no guarantees for humane quarantine laws.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
P! eople Who Should Not Get The Smallpox Vaccine:
1) Persons who experience anaphylactic reactions to polymyxin B sulfate,
streptomycin sulfate, chlortetracycline hydrochloride and neomycin sulfate
should not be vaccinated with Dryvax.
2) Persons with eczema or other skin conditions: Vaccinia vaccine should not
be administered to persons with eczema of any degree, those with a past
history of eczema, those whose household contacts have active eczema, or
whose household contacts have a history of eczema.
3) Persons with other acute, chronic or exfoliative skin conditions
(e.g., atopic dermatitis, burns, impetigo or varicella zoster), as they might
also be at higher risk for eczema vaccinatum.
4) Persons infected with HIV.
5) Persons with immunosuppression (leukemia, lymphoma, generalized
malignancy, solid organ transplantation, cellular or humoral immunity
disorders, therapy with akylating agents, antimetabolites, radiation or
high-do! se corticosteroid therapy).
6) Infants and Children under age 18.
7) Pregnant Women: Vaccinia virus has been reported to cause fetal infection
on rare occasions, almost always after primary vaccination of the mother.
Cases have been reported as recently as 1978. When fetal vaccinia does occur,
it usually results in stillbirth or death of the infant soon after delivery.
8) People who do not want mercury or formaldehyde in their system. Mercury is
an extremely poisonous heavy metal and is in vaccinations in the form of the
"preservative" Thimerserol. Formaldehyde, another ingredient commonly found
in vaccines, is used to embalm corpses.
9) People who would rather take their chances on becoming ill from smallpox
-- which is a very low-risk disease -- than become ill from vaccines.
10) Those who love their freedom and want the option of choosing their own
health care.
If this bill is passed, you will not have a choice. You must comply...!
We only have this weekend to send, fax, e-mail as the Senate will vote on
Monday.
My message to the Senators in my state was short and to the point. Feel free
to copy it if you wish: >>

Dear Senator ____________,
Forcing Americans to receive the smallpox vaccine is a violation of our
liberty and freedom of choice. In fact, it is the ultimate in bioterrorism.
If vaccines work so well, the people who ARE vaccinated shouldn't have
anything to worry about. As for those who choose not to be...well, we'll take
our chances.
You are not for freedom if you force people to be vaccinated against their
will.
Sincerely,

Dear OPCTJers,
SPJ is trying to organize a teach-in on Iraq and we're looking for speakers.
We already know about Voices in the Wilderness, AFSC and Mr. Mujeeb Khan,
but if you know of any people or groups please e-mail me or our sponser

Also, and I apologize if this has already been posted, Studio Pardes is
presenting a show and silent auction for the masks created in the Facing
Homelessness project. People in the PADS program, volunteers, and community
members have "donated their faces" by sitting for plaster masks and artists
have decorated them. There are some fantastic masks and the profits go to
PADS. It should be a good time. (Come see the mask of my face and the one
I decorated!)

Many thanks to Jeff Olson and Judy Bradeen for hosting the Potluck
Party on Sunday, December 1. Thanks also to Richard Breyer and the
others volunteers who ably assisted to make this an enjoyable and
informative evening. This was a well thought out event and it took a
good deal of work to have everything come together seamlessly. One
proof of this was the participation of Representative Danny Davis.
You're great entertainers and organizers! I enjoyed the opportunity
to meet new friends and exchange thoughts and feelings. It was
particularly moving and encouraging to hear others speak about what
they were doing individually to work for peace and a better world. I
am looking forward to seeing some of you again at the Peace Rally and
March this Sunday, December 8, 2:00 p.m. at Scoville Park, Oak Park.

Hi All,
Attached to this email is the statement for the OPCTJ in the Wednesday Journal
and hopefully the Forest Park Review and a sheet for listing signer's
information and contribution.

The date of publication is Wednesday, December 11, 2002. Therefore, ALL NAMES
AND MONEY MUST BE RETURNED TO ME, ANN KRANSDORF, BY 6:00 PM SUNDAY EVENING,
DECEMBER 8, 2002.

We need a total of $934 for the full page in Wednesday Journal. For another
$300, we can get into the Forest Park Review as well. At this writing, we have
$330 and 57 names.

I am also going to send the sheet for names, addresses, etc. in a separate email
and attachment. The subject line will be: "Journal Ad."

On Sunday night, December 8, 2002, we will need to get together and type all the
names into the computer so that Estelle can make up the copy for the ad on
Monday December 12, 2002. I will follow this up with another email announcing
where we can do the typing.

Good luck,
Ann

Statement for publication in Wednesday Journal

We, the undersigned, oppose the United State's planned war against Iraq and the
culture and
policy of militarism and aggression that underlies it.

By following our present course of militarizing international relations,
substituting force for
diplomacy and marginalizing the institutions of international law we risk losing
our moral,
political and legal foundation as leaders.

By ignoring the nearly universal opposition to our war plans from countries
around the world
and by forcing our will on any country that opposes us, we betray the very
principles of
democracy itself, substituting the decrees of a powerful elite for the will of
the world's people.

By relying on brute force and showing callous disregard for the civilian and
humanitarian costs
of our military adventurism we risk becoming the very type of aggressor nation
we have fought
against in previous wars, and by so doing we give only strength and moral
justification to those
who seek to harm us, creating a world far less safe for ourselves, for our
allies and friends, and
for our children.

Our aggressive actions and disregard for international opinion have done nothing
to halt or even
slow the pace of terrorist attacks, and instead have served only to reinforce
fears that the U.S. is
the enemy of Islam, create widespread suspicion of U.S. motives even among our
allies, and
embolden a new wave of militarism and repression on the part of other nations
around the world.

And most frighteningly our aggression overseas is being cynically used to
justify a dangerously
anti-democratic shift at home by authorizing actions such as detention without
trial of U.S.
citizens, confiscation of private property without legal charges, rulings by
secret courts that
cannot be appealed, racial profiling and intimidation, and such alarmingly
intrusive domestic
spying efforts as the TIPS and TIA programs. All of these actions are already
happening here in
the United States.

We call on our friends and neighbors to oppose the Bush administration's agenda
of aggression
abroad and infringement of fundamental civil liberties at home, and to join us
in demanding that
the Bush administration reverse its course and instead pursue a policy aimed at
reducing conflict,
rinding common ground, and respecting the human rights, political rights, and
legal rights of
peoples around the world.

Chicagoland Not In Our Name General Meeting
Saturday Dec. 7th, 1:30 – 3:30 pm
Wellington Ave. Church Basement - 615 W. Wellington (just W of Broadway)
(see below for the International Human Rights Forum Info we encourage
everyone to attend, directly following our meeting)

· Want to take a clear, sharp stand against the whole package of war and
repression?
· Draw a line between the people of this country who have no interest in
carrying this war and the government that is carrying this out?
· Actively take part in moving millions to resist?

Get with NION this Saturday. To learn more about the NION Project, check
out our website at www.notinourname.net and go to /chicago to see our work
in progress addition to the national website.

Read on for more from the national Not In Our Name office......

As the U.S. government’s war drums beat louder and louder for the
devastation of Iraq, Not in Our Name calls on everyone to step up
resistance to this totally unjust war-in-the-making – a big escalation of
the government’s war on the world, accompanied by escalating attacks on
civil liberties.

In December, NION is launching our campaign calling on people across the
country to display images of the earth as a symbol of solidarity with the
people of the world. Imagine – at just the time the government is trying to
smother dissent and get people to march behind the red, white and blue in
militaristic lock-step – a million images of the globe/earth on flags
flying in front of schools and town halls, from car antennas, on posters in
store windows, on bulletin boards – in cities and communities nationwide.
NION is preparing posters with the image of the globe/earth and the words
"War on the World? War on Iraq? NOT IN OUR NAME!" The NION web site
(notinourname.net) has images to download and materials to order – and more
will be available in the coming days. Create your own designs – and share
them by sending them to info@....

On December 10, International Human Rights Day, we urge you to join with
others in your cities and communities to protest the impending war with
Iraq. This will be just two days after the deadline Iraq has been given to
turn over blueprints of the country – and Bush et al. have already declared
that whatever Iraq does will be justification for war. United for Peace
(unitedforpeace.org) a new national campaign against war on Iraq which NION
is a part of, has called for nationwide, decentralized actions on that day.
The Iraq Pledge of Resistance (peacepledge.org) which NION also supports,
is planning actions on that day as well. Check out their websites for more
information.
Join already-planned events on Dec.10 or call your own rallies, vigils,
community meetings, campus forums and speak-outs, street demonstrations and
actions to say NOT IN OUR NAME to war on Iraq. Take the Not in Our Name
Pledge of Resistance into every event, along with posters and flags with
the image of the earth as a symbol that we stand with the people of the
world and are committed "to resist the injustices done by our government in
our names."

Finally, get ready to respond to escalations of U.S. war preparations and
war acts. Work with others in your cities and communities to plan a central
gathering place for emergency protests and ways to contact people on short
notice. Check the NION web site regularly for updates.

>unnecessary war. "The focus of the Council is primarily on local
>Chicago matters, but in this instance our members uniformly believe
>that our obligation as religious leaders required us to speak out

>Bishop William Persell, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago

>Dear Mr. President:

>Council embraces a broad diversity of theological, ideological and
>political orientations. It is a microcosm of American religion as it
>exists in a great city that lies in the American heartland.
>
>In years past, the Council has frequently been unable to find
>consensus on the role of military action as an instrument of peace.
>Some of our constituent institutions supported Operation Desert
>Storm; others did not. Some endorsed the use of force in
>Afghanistan; others urged alternative means to combat terrorism.
>Once again, we are confronted by the possibility of our nation going

>Some members of our Council hold to the faithful judgment that war in

>Some believe that war can be justified, but only under the most rigid

Subject: Wednesday Journal Ad., cont.
joekrans@...
Send Email Send Email

Hi Everyone--

Joe and I threw together the previous message on the ad during a very busy
evening and from the questions we have gotten, I have realized that we left out
a lot of information, so we'll try again.

In the course of various conversations, there seemed to be a feeling that there
was some urgency in getting the full page ad in the paper as soon as possible
and the question seemed to be when did the Wednesday Journal need the ad in
order to put it in the Dec.11th edition, did it give us enough time to get the
signatures, and most importantly, could Estelle meet that deadline in designing
the ad. I called the Wednesday Journal and found out that they would give us
until the end of the day on Mon. 12/9 to get the ad to them, which works for
Estelle. They would also give us a page in the Forest Park paper for $300 more.
I didn't commit to that part and he said I could tell him Monday afternoon. They
are saving us space for 12/11 in the Wednesday Journal.

It seemed to me and some others that with various people from the potluck
collecting names this week and with Sunday being a Big Day, with collecting
names at various churches and at the rally, we could get enough names for the ad
easily by Sun. night. I actually think we might end up with more than can fit,
but I suppose Estelle can make them very small.

We are asking for $5 per name. The contributions and the names need to get to me
by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday night 12/8. You can drop them off at my house (checks
made out to Ann Kransdorf) at 643 N. Elmwood Ave., Oak Park, Il. 60302. You can
also call me at (708) 848-3455 or email me or Joe at annkrans@... or
joekrans@.... (My email still doesn't work with the OPCTJ list for some
bizarre reason) and let us know what the names are and that the check is in the
mail.

I am planning to set up a table at the rally at Scoville Park on Sunday at about
1:30 in order to collect names and contributions for the ad. I could use some
help with that and think it might also be a good idea to have some people
wandering among the crowd with clipboards. Let me know if you'd like to help or
find me Sunday near Lake and Oak Park.

Hope this clarifies--

Ann Kransdorf

Subject: NY Times Full Page Ad to Bush

Check this out -- A full page ad in the New York Times
last Wednesday -- a powerful, direct, in-your-face
challenge to President Bush's Methodist religious
beliefs from the General Secretary of the National
Council of Churches and other religious leaders.

If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader downloaded on your
PC, check out the PDF link below and expand it to your
full screen size. (The full graphic ad in PDF is much
better than any of the news summaries below.)
http://www.truemajority.com/documents/nyt_rel_ad.pdf

Signed by hundreds of rabbis, Roman Catholic and
protestant clergy and Muslim clergy, the ad warned
Bush, “Your war would violate the teachings of Jesus
Christ … We acknowledge that Saddam Hussein is a cruel
tyrant, but a war on the country he rules is not a
just war. It will be an unprovoked, preemptive attack
on a nation which is not threatening the United
States. It will violate the United Nations charter and
set a dangerous precedent. … It will bring death and
destruction to Baghdad, a huge city filled with
innocent civilians.”

"It is inconceivable that Jesus Christ our Lord and
Savior and Prince of Peace, would support this
proposed attack."

If you don't have Acrobat on your machine the news
articles below about the ad offer additional info.

This email list will NOT be used to help field any candidates against
Alderman Isaac Carothers of the 29th Ward.

OPCTJ as a group was formed in response to America's mobilization toward war
in reaction to the terrorism of 9/11. Our "raison d'etre" all along has
been to counteract the promotion of war as an answer to terrorism.

CAWI and some other groups have promoted a Chicago city council resolution
denouncing the threatened war on Iraq, Ike Carothers has signed on as one of
the resolution's sponsors (one of I believe six Alderpeople to do so), and
THIS is the Alderman you want to target for opposition, Bruce?

I'm sorry, but no.

If the Green Party wants to oppose Alderman Carothers for whatever reason,
you're free to do that on your own list. OPCTJ not only will not help any
effort against him, but-- if we at all appreciate his putting himself on the
line for us as he has done with this Chicago resolution-- we actually ought
to support his reelection against any and all fielded opponents.

If we ask elected officials to help us and they do indeed stand up for our
cause, only to have us then turn around and work against their
reelections... we have to wonder what message that sends. How will we
expect any elected leaders to be willing to listen to us again?

Ben

>In North Carolina last month, a woman attending a lecture I was giving
>asked me when America would go to war in Iraq. I told her to watch the
>front page of The New York Times and The Washington Post for the first
>smear campaigns against the UN inspectors. And bingo, right on time, the
>smears have begun.
>
>One of the UN inspectors, it's now stated - a man appointed at the
>behest of the State Department - is involved with pornography. Another
>senior official, we're now told - again appointed at the urging of the
>State Department - was previously fired from his job as head of a
>nuclear safety agency. Why, I wonder, did the Americans want these men
>on the inspection team? So they could trash it later?
>
>Actually, the official drubbing of the UN inspectors began way back in
>September when The New York Times announced, over Judith Miller's
>by-line, that the original inspections team may be on a "mission
>impossible". The source was "some officials (sic) and former
>inspectors". Now President George Bush is banging on again about the
>Iraqi anti-aircraft defences firing at American and British pilots -
>even though the no-fly zones have nothing to do with the UN inspections
>nor, indeed, anything to do with the UN at all. The inspections appear
>to be going unhindered in Baghdad. And what does George Bush tell us?
>"So far the signs are not encouraging."
>
>What does this mean? Simply that America plans to go to war whatever the
>UN inspectors find. The New York Times - which is now little more than a
>mouthpiece for scores of anonymous US "officials" - has persuaded itself
>that Iraq's Arab neighbours "seem prepared to support an American
>military campaign". Despite all the warnings from Arab leaders, repeated
>over and over again, month after month, urging America not to go to war,
>this is the kind of nonsense being peddled in the United States.
>
>And now the British government has come up with another of its famous
>"dossiers"on Saddam's human rights abuses. Yes, again, we all know how
>vicious Saddam is. We knew about his raping rooms and his executions and
>his torture when we eagerly supported his invasion of Iran in 1980. So
>why is it being regurgitated all over again?
>
>Just take one little point in the latest British "dossier". It reveals
>that a certain Aziz Saleh Ahmed, a "fighter in the popular army", held a
>position as "violator of women's honour". Now I happen to remember that
>name. Was this not the same Aziz Saleh Ahmed who turned up on page 287
>of a book published back in 1993 by Kanan Makiya, who formerly called
>himself Samir al-Khalil? Why, indeed it was. Aziz Saleh Ahmed is listed
>as a "fighter in the popular army" and - you've guessed it - "violator
>of women's honour".
>
>There was a controversy about the translation back at the time, but I've
>no doubt that there are raping rooms in Saddam's Iraq. I went inside one
>in the northern city of Dohuk in 1991, women's underclothes still lying
>on the floor. But the point is, what are we doing rehashing the Aziz
>Saleh Ahmad story all over again as if we've just discovered it when
>it's at least eight years old and - according to Makiya - was first seen

>
>And yet again, the Americans are trying to establish links between Osama

>loathes the Iraqi leader. No one - absolutely no one - has produced the
>slightest evidence that Saddam had anything to do with the international
>crimes against humanity of 11 September. But still we are forced to
>listen to this trash.
>
>Before Christmas or afterwards? I don't know. I do believe that the US

>one week of an invasion. The first photos will show Iraqis making V for
>victory signs at the American tanks. The second batch of pictures will
>show Baath party members strung up from lamp-posts by the population
>they have suppressed for so many years.
>
>We will presumably use depleted uranium munitions against Iraqi armour -
>the same depleted uranium that was used 11 years ago in the deserts of
>southern Iraq, where children are now ravaged by strange and unexplained
>cancers. And we will not - repeat this one hundred times - we will not
>mention oil.
>
>The most the Iraqi army will do in response to an invasion - always
>assuming they don't have nuclear or chemical weapons - will be to score

>today of Sgt Zoltan Bercik, the Yugoslav Hungarian from Vojvodina who
>single-handedly fired a liquid-fuelled Neva missile at an American
>Stealth bomber over Serbia on 27 March 1999? The only man to bring down

>But that's remembering another war in which the cause of the conflict -
>the ethnic cleansing of the Kosovo Albanians - subtly changed shape once

>
>In the meantime, Mr Bush's foreign policy advisers are busy hatching up

>Pat Robertson, the religious broadcaster - who used to run a vile radio

Hello Everyone:
Do come out this Thursday,December 12th, and bring a sign or a big fat
banner, or bring some leaflets announcing the Dec 15th event downtown, and play
at the Freeway entrance vigil party.
Let your fellow Americans know that they aren't the only ones who think that
the prospective Iraq war is insane. Discuss politics. Gossip.
     Time 7:30ish A.M.
     Place: Austin and The Eisenhower.
     Dress warm.
I am looking forward to seeing you all there

     Viva Los Freeway Viglantes!

Please join us for this important peace action. This vigil and procession
provides a unique opportunity for political activists, secular peace
organizations, and the faithful of all traditions to gather together and
demonstrate our shared belief in the moral indefensibility of our nation's
planned war on Iraq, and our deep desire to create peaceful and just
alternatives to our nations's current global policies. Please pass this
message along.

Check it out... http://www.opctj.org/docs/OPCTJad.pdf

Our full page ad in today's Wednesday Journal. Great
picture, a powerful eloquent statement, 600+ Oak Park
signees, and a reminder of the mass city-wide Peace
Vigil and Candlelight Vigil this Sunday.

It all happened so fast that if you weren't able to go
to the rally Sunday and didn't go to a local church
this last Sunday, you may not even have known it was
going to happen.

Thank you, Ann Kransdorf, for taking charge and making
it happen. I don't know all who we should thank, but
I do know that Estelle Carol was up until the wee
hours of Monday morning working on the ad. Kevin
McDermott drafted the statement. Blair Barbour, Joe
Kransdorf, Judy Erickson, Bomshad Mobasher, Walt
Ziegenhals, Richard Breyer, Tim, and Jerry Delaney
were among those did a lot of work getting names/money
and working out the details. I know there were a
bunch more people too doing sign up and other help.
We all thank you!

Jeff O.

Hi everyone,

Thanks to everyone who signed their name, donated money, asked others for
signatures and donations, helped count the money, compose the text, and design
the ad. Because of this work, we got almost 700 names and placed the ad in the
Wednesday Journal, Forest Park and the Austin News. With this team effort we
were able to do this all in one week. Hope to see everyone on December 15, 2002
at the St. James Cathedral, 65 E. Huron, at 3:30 pm. There will be no meeting
this Sunday, December 15, 2002. The next meeting will be Sunday December 22,
2002 at 7:00 pm at the Oak Park Arms.
