ONE is homeschool support group for parents of one child who live in or near the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area (Minneapolis/Saint Paul, Minnesota).

Our primary focus is support for parents, but we do have informal gatherings for our children at area parks, museums, etc.

ONE is a secular, inclusive group. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, handicap, familial status, or national origin.

We respect that there are many different paths to "only" parenthood and support each other on our individual journeys.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the right group for me if I have more than one child but (1) I am homeschooling only one of them, or (2) I have only one child left at home, or (3) there is an larger than usual age gap between my children?

No. While there may be similarities between homeschooling an only child and homeschooling a child in the above situations, this group provides support for parents with one child including social and parenting issues around the one-child family.

Is this the right group for me if I am the parent of one child but am not homeschooling that child?

No. The focus on this group is on supporting homeschool families with one child. While we will not be asking anyone for their "homeschool credentials," our gatherings are during the "school day" (weekday - daytime) when non-homeschooled children are at school, and much of our discussion focuses on homeschool-related topics.

Is this the right group for me if I don't live in the Twin Cities?

Maybe. This group provides both online discussion support and gatherings within the metro area. If you live in Minnesota (or in Wisconsin near the state line), you may find attending gatherings difficult but may benefit from the online discussions. If you live further away than that, this group is not the right fit.
