Cadena de Amor Chapter No. 16, Order of the Eastern Star in Cagayan de Oro City, started as a group of ladies of Masons organized as the Lilies of the Valley. On November 28, 1976, this group with some brethren from Macajalar Lodge No. 184, Maguindanao Lodge No. 40 and other Mason's wives convened at the Maguindanao Masonic Temple, thus, the birth of the OES Chapter in the city.

The Chapter was then instituted on April 9, 1978, presided over by the Most Worthy Grand Patron Eduard A. Bellis,assisted by the officers and members of Ma. Cristina Chapter No. 13 of Iligan City.

The Chapter meets every 2nd Friday of the month at 5:30pm at the Maguindanao Masonic Temple, Capistrano St., Cagayan de Oro City.

Our Worthy Matron for the OES Year 2009 is Sis Joy Mabaylan and our Worthy Patron for the OES Year 2009 is Bro Nelson Chiu.
