Description

In the late 1700's and early 1800's, groups of people moved from Massachusetts to Vermont and on to Pennsylvania and New York. Some families stayed in their new homes and others continued moving to Ohio and beyond. Some of them left excellent records and others moved through almost undocumented except for their faithful genealogical researchers who now curse their ancestors' itchy feet.

If your family moved through these states from the original colonies, please post your current searches. NO state is omitted from the list but we are concentrating on the northeast in hopes of providing better connections.

We urge you to post your family's brick wall ancestors, and we'll share what has worked for us and suggest sources. Sometimes someone will offer to look something up for you but the real thrill of family history is that it is yours. You earn it by your research and your effort.

Toward this end, make your posts count.

WHO are you looking for?
WHERE were they?
WHEN were they there?
WHAT are you trying to find?
HOW can you find what you need?

DO NOT include long sections of previous posts or the very person who might be able to help you may skip your post as being too long and disorganized.

DO be patient; research by its nature is a *search*. The information you need might not exist or it might be waiting in your county library!

This group can't do your research for you (although we all wish someone would do ours!) but we can support, encourage and perhaps link you with that greatest of all wonders, someone who knows a lot about your branch!
