Welcome to Norsefolk_2- a forum where those interested in learning about the history of the Vikings can come together to share ideas and learn. This list is intended to be a resource for those interested in Northern European cultures in all re-enactment societies around the world as well as independent scholars. Appropriate topics include pretty much anything relating to the historical reality of the time and place. Discussions on how to interpret and recreate Norse life are also welcomed and encouraged.

At its very simplest, the Viking Age is defined as Scandinavian peoples who lived from approximately 800 to 1100. We also recognize the need to sometimes discuss parallel cultures that had interaction with the Vikings, such as the Anglo-Saxons, the Normans, and the Baltic locations. In order to build a comprehensive picture we also permit discussions that can include extensions on either side of the Viking Age as long as there is obvious relevance to the Norse.

Because of rampant spam on the Internet, a moderator must approve all requests for membership. When prompted, please give a brief reason why you’d like to join Norsefolk_2 so that we can verify your interest. Thank you for your patience during this process.

Norsefolk_2 is not a forum for modern topics, and discussion of modern religion will not be allowed. Discussions on the historic practices and applications are fine and welcome. In case of misunderstanding or controversy the moderators will step in to clarify and resolve the situation.

Any spam or flames will be dealt with promptly. Violators may be removed or warned depending upon the severity of the violation. This is a family-friendly list, and as such profanity, p0rn0graphy or other sensitive issues will not be tolerated.
