PRECAUTIONARY RELEASE OF WATER FROM OYAN DAM

As a result of increase in rainfall in recent weeks, the reservoir level at Oyan Dam has been increasing steadily.

Consequent upon this development and in conformity with the reservoir operational rule of the dam, it has become imperative to release water gradually in order to maintain a tolerable capacity level for the safety of the dam, and by extension, safety of life downstream.

The release requires that the generality of the public be informed accordingly. We are therefore soliciting your assistance in creating awareness and sensitizing member of the public in Lagos State, especially those along the banks of the Ogun River of this development.

It should be noted t hat weather forecast indicates that the downpour may persist for sometime more. Therefore, the release of water may be sustained for as long as will be necessary.
