Hi Peggy -

I have attached a Works database file. Please save it to your hard drive and try to open it. It may not work because the file I sent maybe a newer version of Works than you have, but I would like to see if you can open it. If this does not work I will try something else. If you need more detail instructions for open and saving the file let me know.

Hi Pat,
I am willing to help with this project, but will not have much free time until January.  You can either let me know then, or get me started now knowing I won't have much time until later.  I can help with the Rose book, but I am interested in the Lismore and Adrian areas too.  So whatever you need help with is fine.

I might be able to help with some indexing. I am a novice, but have been
thinking about donating some time to a project such as this. I would like
to assist in a county where I have roots.

Hi Melody -
We can supply you with a book to index. The book would be from my personal
library, so I would need it back when the project is finished, I would be
willing to pay postage both ways. If you would like to help with the Rose
history book, I can photocopy the index its self and send that to work off
of.

What towns are you the most interest it?, Wilmont, Adrian?

I am very interested in assisting in this. The only problem is that I do
not
have access to the books that you mentioned. Let me know if my help is

Hi Elaine-
We would be glad for any help you would like to give. Do you have an
interest in the Nobles County History book by Rose or the Adrian book? Or
is there another book that you would like to help with?

How much do you know about computers? Do you want to just type it in a text
format with ", commas" or tab's between the names and page numbers or can I
send you a blank database file set up for you to add into? What programs
have you worked with? Microsoft Works, Access?

If you would like to help with the Nobles Co. History by Rose I can send you
a photo copy of the index to work off of. Maybe if you just want to do a
letter at a time. I have started with the "A"'s, maybe you would like to do
the "H"'s?

I am very flexible anything you can do would be greatly appreciated.
Pat

Would it be OK for me to help or does it cause too many problems with

We are looking for help with some indexing of Nobles County
resources. We already have a database of over 60,000 names, but we
would like to continue to add to this database. We would like to
make the new entries available on-line at egroups in the database
link. One of the first resources we would like to see add to the
database is the complete index to the out of print book "History of
Nobles County" pub.1908 by Arthur P. Rose. Another resource is the
Adrian Centennial book, pub. 1976. The Adrian book does not have an
index at present so each page would have to be searched and names
added into the database.

If you are interested in helping with these books or have another one
that you would like to see added to our database please let us know.
There are several ways to help, you can enter the information on-line
or simply type it with a word processor, email it and we will import
the information into the database. If you don't have access to
the
books we can arrange to get you copies to work with. If you are
willing to help please contact us for instructions.

Hi Vickie -
In the NCGG cemetery records the following entry is found:
BUSMAN
Joseph, 1875-1947, father
Mary, 1885-1946, mother

This is from the Worthington Township Cemetery, which is on the
southeastern edge of Worthington on Co.#5 and Nobles St. This plot
if found in section A row 31. Section A is the first section to the
north as you enter the main gate off County Rd.#5. The rows are by
counting from the gate going up as you go in.

I would appreciate any information that can be provided on Joseph and
Mary Busman. I have been advised that information on them is
contained in the Nobles County Cemetery Book #2, Page 123. Also, I
would like driving directions to the location of the cemetery of
their burial. Thank you very much for any help you can give me.

On a road trip in 1999 we were able to locate other family members at
the Leota Cemetery, namely: Simon & Janstje Busman, Simon & Annie
Busman and Winifred (Busman) DeJong. We were also able to find other
family members at the Chandler cemetery.

I finally got around to checking on the MARR surname in our files.
We seem to have quite a bit of information, 50 or so entries most of
them are from our cemetery records that it sounds like you have.
There are only three obituaries in our files, Mabel Marr, d. 20 Oct

would like any of these let me know and I will scan them and email

One of the questions she had that we were not able to help on was a

Search Federal Land Patent Databases
This site offers researchers a source of information on the initial
transfer of land titles from the Federal government to individuals.
In addition to verifying title transfer, this information will allow
the researcher to associate an individual (Patentee, Assignee,
