This Group is dedicated to STOPPING the USDA's proposed national animal identification system. As one reads the proposed standard, one realizes that this system is much more than simple animal identification. It is a bold, offensive play for agribusiness to monopolize the food chain, under the guise of creating a safer food chain, while creating hardships for the small farmer to the extent of inoperable costs. Furthermore, this standard violates many constitutional rights. As of 2/6/06, even USDA's lawyers are scrutinizing the system for illegalities.
