Nine Worlds is for the exploration of pre-Christian, northern European Lore and circumpolar traditions. Topics include historic study and modern day practice of Fjölkunnigr, "Much Knowing", which is the study of Galdr, Leechcræft, Runes, Seiðr, Spá, and Wortcunning. Fjölkyngisfólk should be rooted in the history and Lore of their Heathen ancestors, void of new age ideas and practices.
Members should be interested in learning about and challenging the status quo of dis-information. UPG is acceptable only when it does *not* replace traditional wisdom (Lore-based Knowledge; LBK), and so misdirect legitimate research from cultural practices. Members must *not* remain silent when confronting the many half-truths being passed as fact in Heathen esoteric circles. As Fjölkyngifólk, we are to blame if we are not speaking out about the dis-information in our midst.
All list members *must* post monthly and cite references to support their ideas; no trolls, no lurkers.
9Ws welcomes access to insights not easily garnered in other ways; keen perception into spirit and magic, symbol and ritual, morals and ethics, all of which play important roles in fostering the Folksoul. Today, there is a critical need for ongoing reflection and understanding of Fjölkunigr traditions through a historical lens. Rational inquiry and critical examination must cojoin with inner reflection and profound awareness.
