The New England Textile Arts Network was established in February, 2003, so we are proudly entering our tenth year.
Our guiding principle is, and always will be, K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sweetie).
We are boundary-spanners from (mostly) New England guilds and associations with two common passions: we love to work with fiber and textiles and we enjoy sharing what we know. There is no profit motive; no organization to support financially. We just use this email group and our annual SPA event to jump in and teach someone, or learn something about textile arts - or both.
This is a EWEnique group of New England Knitters, Spinners, Spindlers, Weavers, Dyers, Lacemakers, Quilters, Felters, Rug Braiders, keepers of Bunnies, Goats, Alpacas, Llamas and SHEEP, Yarn Shop Owners, spinning wheel makers, button designers, mini-millers, people who CROCHET and Tat and Hook, and people who are BRAND NEW to it all and want to LEARN.
The 11th ANNUAL Spa, Knit and Spin retreat will be held February 1-3, 2013. You can surf the email archives here in the Yahoo group for the details; much of the same information is posted on our blog and in FaceBook and Ravelry.

New Home Page picture: Mountain Fiber Folk sent this picture of Sabra spinning with a drop spindle. She is a lovely troll with hand dyed angora goat fiber hair and a fantastic hand knit sweater with pewter buttons. Her indian cotton blouse has fresh water pearl buttons and her drop spindle was hand made by Pat Farmer. She's got a basketful of fiber to spin. Doesn't she make you want to get outside in the sunshine and do some spinning?
